I designed the Autonomous Delivery Vehicle (ADV) as an environmental friendly and fast alternative to parcel delivery with Gasoline powered vans. The main idea is to make small postal hubs in each neighbourhood from where the last mile delivery can be made by the ADV. The ADV can be loaded with different cartridges, making it multi purposefull. From parcel cardridges to a heated pizza delivery versions, the possibilities are limetless.

The ADV communicates with the user via the app of the service provider. When it is near it will call you to notify you to pick up the package. It can deliver its goods at a given location or even at a life location based on the GPS signal from your smartphone. You don’t even have to be at home to be able to receive your package. To open the lid of the ADV you can scan the QR code on the screen with the app on your smartphone. The lid will open and the user can pick up the goods. Depending on the size, the ADV can deliver around 5 regular sized packages before it needs to change its cardridge. If for what reason the package can’t be delivered it will be stored in a locker at the central hub. Here the user can pick up the package 24-7.

The ADV is fully electric and has 1 motor per wheel. Apart from the front wheels that can turn many degrees the rear wheels can also turn a couple of degrees to improve flexibility. The ADV supports wireless charging in its floor panel so the ADV can be charged easily between jobs at the central hub that has a solar panel roof.

The ADV has lidar, sonar and camera sensors all around so it can safely drive on the main roads with a top speed of 50km/h. Next tot that the ADV is also able to drive at walking pace through pedestrian areas. While doing that it is making a pleasant sound to not scare surrounding bystanders.
